May is a month where the silly and serious collide. May 1st means International Workers' Day to you socialists out there, but to the Japanese means Satsuki, or May sickness, when new students and workers start to grow tired of their new schoolwork or jobs. But then hey, with plenty of May Bank Holiday breaks, Spring Breaks and Family Holidays kicking around, it’s a great time to take off work.
May is home to a host of niche celebrations like the oft-overlooked ‘No Pants Day’ (observed in many Anglo-Saxon countries on the first Friday in May) and ‘Towel Day' celebrated globally and somewhat obscurely in honour of The Hitch-Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy.
You can celebrate as you like throughout May at any of our small hotels but recommend you keep quiet if you are celebrating No Pants Day.
