MICHELIN STARRED RESTAURANTS

"The discovery of a new dish", wrote renowned French gastronome Jean Anthelme Brillat-Savarin, "does more for human happiness than the discovery of a new star". Monsieur Brillat-Savarin certainly took his food seriously, and so do we - Best Loved includes an array of gastronomic destinations, including Michelin-starred fine dining.

The results are now in for this year's Michelin Guide and we are particularly delighted to congratulate the following Best Loved holders of a Michelin Star.

THE PEAT INN, FIFE

The Peat Inn has existed on this spot since the mid-18th century, serving down the centuries as a coaching inn, a hotel, a pub and a restaurant - an uninterrupted history of hospitality for around two hundred and fifty years.

Today this Michelin-starred restaurant with rooms is owned and run since June 2006 by Chef and food columnist Geoffrey Smeddle and his wife Katherine. Together, they continue to welcome guests who appreciate the very personal experience, excellent cooking and thoughtful service, which are the hallmarks of The Peat Inn.

The eight suites offer the opportunity for a rather special night away at one of Scotland's most cherished gourmet destinations.
