Dear %UPDT% Thursday 13th July 2006
In many ways, the Feversham comes into its own in the Summer - the pool garden is such a secluded suntrap and a great place to spend a warm afternoon on a lazy summer day. I was here in June and enjoyed a bottle of wine pool-side with owner and long-standing friend Simon Rhatigan.

Simon has run some of the finest hotels in the UK and in fact coined the term 'intense relaxation'. People want distilled experience, 100% proof relaxation, and this is what Feversham delivers. The new garden suite is a perfect example. I stayed here and can vouch that you don't just get a bath, you get an ample roll-top bath and the sounds of Bach over the B&O stereo. In this picturesque Yorkshire village, history and modernity coexist in dramatic union. Chrome, stonework, colour and soft furnishings produce an ultra-slick effect. Footpaths leave straight from the front door and within minutes you can be in glorious countryside.
