Honey-coloured limestone catching the glinting sunlight, picture-book villages, sweeping green vistas ... this Best Loved special edition focuses on The Cotswolds, one of my favourite corners of England, and more specifically on two truly outstanding Cotswolds hotels, The Feathers and Lords of the Manor. These are both marvellous, über-romantic places to stay, full of historic character and charm (both dating back to the 17th century), and they are perfect for walking breaks, special occasions, gourmet getaways, exploring nearby historic houses and gardens, and relaxing in the fresh country air.

Lords of the Manor is an idyllic country house in beautifully tranquil surroundings. Having undergone an amazing renovation, Lords is now better than ever, as its 4 AA Red Star status and well deserved Michelin Star for Chef Matt Weedon testify. The Feathers is an enchanting boutique townhouse hotel in the charming market town of Woodstock, home to Blenheim Palace. Here you get the best of both town and country, as you are right at the gate of the fabulous Blenheim estate as well as in the heart of the village and just a short distance from Oxford.

So whether you are antique hunting in Burford or Woodstock, walking in the green hills, visiting picturesque villages, looking for a divine culinary experience, or celebrating a birthday or anniversary, Lords of the Manor and The Feathers are your ideal bases for exploration. The great value special offers below make this kind of luxury even more tempting. This summer is the time to make your Cotswolds dream a reality.

Best wishes,

Jeffrey Epstein

Cotswolds Walking & Gardens

The Cotswolds are an idyllic place to commune with nature, especially in these warm and sunny summer months. There are over 3,000 miles of public footpaths in the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

You can choose long distance trails, such as the famous Cotswolds Way, a national trail running atop the ridge of hills, starting near Lords of the Manor and running past Cheltenham, Gloucester, all the way to down Bath, or The Oxfordshire Way, easily explored from The Feathers, which connects Bourton-on-the-Water to Henley-on-Thames via Blenheim Park.

The Cotswolds are full of extraordinary gardens. Among our favourites are Hidcote Manor near Chipping Campden, Abbey House Gardens at Malmesbury, The National Arboretum at Westonbirt near Tetbury, and Batsford Arboretum, near Morton-in-March and one of the largest private collections of trees and shrubs in the country.
